In the front rows and on the pavements of Paris, people showed how they really choose to wear serious jewelry.
The unexpected pieces and personal styling choices stealing attention between shows
The other runway
Paris Fashion Week has two shows running at once. One happens on the runway. The other happens in the front row and on the pavement outside, where guests arrive dressed to be photographed. For jewelry, the second show is often the more revealing one, because it shows how real people choose to wear pieces, not how a designer imagined them.
This season, the front rows of the Spring/Summer 2027 shows, held from September 28 to October 6, offered some of the most striking jewelry moments of the week.
Seventy carats at the Trocadéro
The biggest jewelry moment of the week came at Saint Laurent on September 29, at the Fontaine du Trocadéro. Hailey Bieber and Zoë Kravitz sat front row wearing Jessica McCormack jewelry with a combined weight of more than 70 carats of diamonds.

Kravitz wore McCormack's Asymmetric Cabochon Emerald Pear-Shaped Diamond hoop earrings with a sheer black Saint Laurent lace set, and added a second pair of the jeweler's earrings. On her right wrist, she stacked two Tempest bracelets, one with 27 carats of round brilliant diamonds and a narrower version with 12.60 carats.
Bieber took the opposite approach, putting her jewelry into just two pieces: one oversized pair of earrings and a six-carat ring.
Side by side, the two looks showed two very different ways of wearing serious jewelry. Kravitz mixed emeralds with diamonds, and yellow gold with blackened white gold, layering multiple pieces. Bieber edited down to a pair of earrings and a single ring.
Diamonds at the ankle
At Dior, Rihanna wore a little black dress and finished the look in an unexpected place: a diamond anklet. On a red carpet, an anklet would rarely be seen at all. In the Paris front row, it became the detail that tied the look together.
Earrings that did the talking
Earrings were the most visible piece across the week's front rows.
At Dior, the singer Ejae wore a shimmering black matching set and paired it with a pair of statement floral earrings that broke up the monochrome. At Schiaparelli, actor Naomi Ackie wore a glossy black gown with chandelier earrings. In both cases, an all-black outfit gave the earrings room to stand out.
At the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, Cynthia Erivo wore a collared bomber jacket and matching maxi skirt by Khaite, finished with Tiffany & Co. jewelry: a reminder that fine jewelry no longer needs a gown to make sense.
On the pavement
Outside the shows, jewelry choices were more personal and often more restrained. Outside Dior's show at the Bassin Octogonal in the Tuileries, one guest in head-to-toe plaid kept her jewelry minimal so the outfit didn't feel overwhelming. Elsewhere, a long beaded necklace paired with a strapless top and pencil skirt was among the looks spotlighted from the week's street style.
What the front rows said
The pattern across the week was less about one trend than about attitude. Serious diamonds were worn with lace and casual tailoring. Emeralds were mixed with diamonds and yellow gold with blackened metal. A diamond anklet carried an entire look. And all-black outfits became a backdrop for a single strong pair of earrings.
The common thread was confidence: jewelry chosen to say something about the person wearing it, not just to match the occasion.
On the runway, designers show what jewelry could be. In the front row, people show what it actually is: a personal choice, made for one evening, in one city, in front of every camera in fashion. This season in Paris, those choices were bolder, more mixed and more individual than ever.
